However, the reality is that the water damage restoration process is not as difficult as you might think.

First Step – Repair the Water Leak Situation

There are multiple reasons for water damage in Phoenix including:

  • Broken water pipes

  • HVAC System that is leaking

  • Backed up sewer

Before you take the time to rebuild your home and complete water damage clean-up, we need to first identify and resolve the cause of the water damage. A professional water damage restoration expert needs to begin with this first step before they attempt to make any repairs to your home. Starting with this step will help to prevent additional damage from the same source.

Mold is not a major problem in Arizona – however, it can be if standing or soaked-in water is left inside you’re going to have a problem. Believe it or not, mold can develop and spread quickly – within 48 to 72 hours in many cases. A professional water removal company is needed to professionally remove all evidence of water using heat drying technology, air-movers and dehumidifiers. It’s also critical to inspect and remove any water from floors, walls or drywall. This process is vital because most insurance companies require moisture-mapping paperwork to be completed to file a claim.

Third Step – Create a Plan

Among the leading water damage restoration tips, it’s often considered that making a solid plan of what needs to be repaired and what you’d like to improve on is a great second step. Many people that experience major water damage tend to consider making upgrades to their home – since the construction process is involved anyway. Others simply want to fix what is damaged and move along. Regardless of your choice, you need to meet with a water damage specialist in Phoenix to outline exactly what you want to accomplish.

It’s never pleasant to have to complete the water damage restoration in Phoenix Az But if this unfortunate situation occurs to you, hopefully you’ll be better prepared to contact a professional water restoration company and know what steps are needed to take to save money, avoid stress and get this problem resolved as quickly as possible.

Phases of Swimming Pool Construction in Scottsdale

Swimming Pool Construction in Scottsdale 300x149 Building a new swimming pool is the dream of many home owners. However, the process involved in swimming pool construction in Scottsdale is often overlooked. Although it may seem simple enough to dig a hole in the ground to create a swimming pool for your backyard oasis – the phases of constructing a swimming pool to your liking can be extensive depending on your desired outcome. This type of construction also requires professional swimming pool builders in Scottsdale to legally complete.

Here are some of the phases and details involved with swimming pool construction in Scottsdale or other neighboring cities:

Phase #1: From Concept to Reality

Swimming Pool Remodel in Scottsdale 300x224 The first phase of building a swimming pool is to contact a swimming pool contractor in Scottsdale. During your initial meetings, they will outline the entire process – which typically begins with a face to face meeting. During this meeting you’ll discuss your wants and needs for your pool project – including any additional landscaping projects that will fit with the entire pool design. All swimming pool construction costs plus a professionally designed rendering of your finished product will also be disclosed and agreed upon during this phase.

Phase #2: Planning and Permits

Just like any other construction project, building a swimming pool needs to be approved by the local government. This is done through planning and having all permits pulled. Typically, the swimming pool contractor will complete this step for you.

Phase #3: Excavation

The excavation process is rather complex. There are typically a few specific steps involved in this phase:

  • First, they will ‘pre-grade’ your swimming pool site. This allows the contractor to have a smooth canvass in which to work.

  • Second, your pool will be ‘staked out’ with an outline. This is only done after the approved design phase.

  • Dirt removal – This final phase is rather important to document and outline before it’s completed. Typically if you’re going to have additional landscaping completed, you’ll require some fill dirt. Always clarify with your swimming pool contractor the details before they start digging and removing dirt.

Phase #4: Forms and Reinforcement

Swimming Pool Project Scottsdale 300x222 After the dirt has been removed, you’ll then enter the forming and reinforcement phase. This is where the swimming pool will take shape. This may also be the time where payments are made to the swimming pool contractor. But, just like every other service job, you’ll specify these details before the actual construction process begins.

Phase #5: Plumbing

This is where the fun begins. After the forms and reinforcement is done, they will then begin to install all plumbing features. It’s also during this phase the typically the first inspections are completed. Building a swimming pool in Scottsdale needs to have routine inspections during specific phases of construction.

Phase #6: Gunite or Structural Cement

Unless you have a pre-fab fiberglass pool being installed, you’ll then enter the gunite phase. This is where the hole in the ground in your backyard begins to look like an actual swimming pool.

Phase # 7: Electrical & Gas Lines

custom pool building in scottsdale 300x198 After the gunite has been successfully applied and cured, the swimming contractor will then bring in the electrical contractors and gas contractors to install these important items. Gas is used for heating and electrical typically runs your filtration system, lights and other systems.

Phase #8: Décor

During this phase your new swimming pool receives its personality. The swimming pool contractors will add tile accents, decking, waterfalls, or other enhancements and cool features that make your pool unique.

Phase #9: Final Adjustments

The final few phases of swimming pool construction will depend on the specific type of pool you’re having built. This includes the type of plaster or finish, hardscaping and landscaping, fences and other required elements.

Planning swimming pool construction in Scottsdale is almost as fun as jumping into your pool for the first time. Peak One Builders Finishing Cory Remsburg‘s Home Renovation

cory rembsburg home remodel 300x187 Image Courtesy of JAH4WW

To say that the last six years has been a challenge for Army Ranger Sergeant First Class Cory Remsburg would be an understatement. Since being severely injured in Afghanistan in 2009, the retired Army Vet has undergone extensive surgeries, therapy and to gain mastery over several daily tasks. Unfortunately, his home environment was not set up in a way to support Cory’s new lifestyle.

This is where the Peak One Builders team has stepped up to provide some knowledge and support to make common home living easier for Sergeant Remsburg and his family. Since August of 2014, several Phoenix-based businesses have chipped in to support a full home renovation project for Cory Remsburg – allowing one of our local hero’s is to live inside a home enhanced with several improvements that will permit him the freedom to live and move around in a comfortable environment.

This very important Phoenix home renovation project is nearing completion. In fact, the home of Army Ranger Sergeant First Class Remsburg will be completed in mid-March. Thanks to a continued partnership between Peak One Builders & Restoration and Jared Allen’s Home for Wounded Warriors foundation; the fourth one completed for Wounded Warriors – Sergeant Remsburg will be able to complete many daily tasks that so many of us can often take for granted.

The improvements the Peak One Builders team has made to Cory’s home will permit him and his family to build and enjoy many wonderful memories together moving forward. The sacrifice Cory has given to protect the freedoms and liberties that we enjoy in the Phoenix Valley and across the United States should always be recognized and rewarded. It has been a great experience and honor to complete this project on behalf of JAH4WW and the Remsburg family.

When the Peak One Builders team began the home renovation project in August of 2014; the house was approximately 1,800 square feet but needed to be completely “gutted” to ensure it was 100% handicapped accessible and supported Cory’s specific needs. Some of the projects undertaken included making sure all doors is widened, cabinets & counter tops lowered, bigger toe kicks on cabinets and roll-in showers for wheelchair access to name a few.

But this wasn’t good enough for the Peak One Builders team – many of whom are retired veterans themselves. In fact, thanks to the support of several contractors and local companies, we were able to add a few extra perks including a beautiful back yard with pool, spa, and outdoor kitchen. We also added a 500 square foot guest house quarters.

This project was made possible because of Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors Foundation. JAH4WW is a non-profit organization created for the sole purpose of raising money to build or modify the homes of America’s injured Military Veterans so that they are handicap accessible and comfortable.  Jared Allen of the Chicago Bears formed the organization in 2009 after he returned home from his USO Tour to U.S. Military Bases in the Middle East.

“Working on Cory’s home wasn’t a challenge – it was an honor. And we thank him and his family for their sacrifice in defending our freedom.”
