General Contractor In Scottsdale Building Handicap Home For Wounded Veteran

General Contractor In ScottsdaleCelebrating this nations birthday reminds us of the freedoms we have in this country, but this freedom does not come without sacrifice. The men and women that serve in our armed forces protect this nation and it’s freedoms. Although it may be easy to reach out to thank our military on holidays like July 4th, Veterans Day or Memorial Day, it’s important that we take every opportunity to give thanks and show gratitude to our military. So when the opportunity came up for Peak One Builders owner Mike Christensen to collaborate once again with Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warrior project to renovate a home for another US Army veteran, this general contractor in Scottsdale jumped in.

US Army Sergeant John Ricketts Home Remodeling Project Is Underway

This time, the recipient of a new remodeling project is US Army Sergeant John Ricketts; a veteran of the war in Afghanistan, who similar to JAH4WW project recipient Sergeant Cory Remsburg, suffered life threatening injuries at the hands of enemy insurgents. Sergeant John Ricketts was injured in May of 2010, while serving as a gunner for the 101st Airborne Division in Afghanistan. His vehicle struck an improvised explosive device (IED) during a routine convoy patrol of a mountainside.

Like many other victims of this type of terrorist act, Sergeant Ricketts suffered severe injuries that impacted multiple aspects body. When US armed forces veterans are faced with challenging injuries, their training, resolve and fortitude tends to shine. While this type of challenge can create difficult feelings and loss of hope, Sergeant Ricketts found a way to encapsulate these emotions and apply them into positive goals for the future.Sergeant Ricketts now has prosthetics and his dream is to compete in an off-road marathon involving a run through the desert, a mountain-bike race, and a competitive swim.

Fourth Home Remodeling Project for Peak One Builders & Jared Allen’s Homes For Wounded Warriors

In July of 2014, Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors closed on a home for Ricketts in Phoenix, Arizona. Planning commenced quickly with Peak One Builders & Restoration to plan the entire home remodeling project that would create a space that would function in a way to support Sergeant Ricketts specific needs. Most importantly, Sergeant Ricketts is 100% involved with the remodeling process ensuring he is getting the home he desires.

As this veteran owned Scottsdale general home contractor, Peak One Builders takes on their fourth home remodeling project with Jared Allen’s foundation, they couldn’t be more proud to be a part of the team. You can follow along with the build with updates posted on the Peak One Builders Facebook page to see how an average home is turned into a comfortable palace for a true American patriot.
