Paradise Valley home renovation services can help you build a high-tech kitchen the Jetsons would be jealous of.
Homeowners looking for cutting technology ideas should read our guide on some of the newest advancements in culinary technology. Here are a few tech savvy ideas for your kitchen remodeling in Paradise Valley.
The Kitchen Vent
A central kitchen vent is one of the main components in a high-tech kitchen. Modern kitchens typically have stovetop ranges in the center of the kitchen with a kitchen hood overhead. In this setup, the island and the stove share the same space so the vent has to also function as an aesthetically pleasing piece. Surprisingly there are a variety of kitchen hood vent options for homeowners to choose from. Some of the most common are:
- Vent to floor: vents that run from the stove top to the foundation or perimeter of the house. They are not as large or invasive as they sound and are constructed in conjunction with the stove.
- Vent to ceiling: ducts connected to the ceiling by a panel. They are the perfect option for island stovetops.
- Vent to wall: exterior vent that is mounted to the wall provides ventilation. An interior duct is connected to the unit with a vertically positioned duct.
Media center kitchen vents are designed to provide air and ventilation for kitchen ranges and surfaces. These are non-traditional areas that don’t have a traditional full-size stove.
Fisher & Paykel Cooksurface Interactive Cooking Tops
Fisher & Paykel is a New Zealand company that specializes in high-tech household appliances. Their latest innovation is the 5 zone induction cooktop. This interactive cooktop uses electromagnetic vibrations to make the pots and pans produce their own heat and in turn cook the food. The company promises shorter cooking times and a safer cooking experience. All cooktops are made with ceramic glass and stainless steel accents.
There are a few different cooktops for buyers to choose from:
- 24” 4 zone touch & slide
- 30” 4 zone touch & slide
- 36” 5 zone touch & slide
- 36” 5 zone induction cooktop
Antibacterial Countertops
Quartz countertops are known for their beautiful finish and rich presence. Quartz stone is imported from foreign countries to the U.S. for kitchen remodeling in PV and various other areas. Quartz has a few major qualities that makes it unique. It is scratch, heat and wear resistant. Its durability means it won’t have to be replaced for many years. Silestone is a technique that infuses quartz slabs with microban technology that prevents the growth of bacterial spores and odor causing bacteria.
Copper-infused countertops are also gaining in popularity. These countertops use ion energy to prevent the growth of microbial bacteria. Cupron technology, named after the company that invented it, is fairly new but they are waiting for approval from the EPA (environmental protection agency) before they start to send out prototypes. The idea of antibacterial counters may be new, but they could become a reality within the next two decades.
3D Food Printing
The Foodini company has created a kitchen appliance that “prints” food for you. It uses natural base ingredients to cook complete meals. You can create pasta from scratch by simply installing the dough, sauce and cheese into the printer. The prototype is very new and hasn’t hit the market quite yet but other 3D food printers are available online.
